UNREQUITED WORDS PRESENTS
The Drunken Master’s Pricey Sentence
A 200-word flash fiction
The court session was presided over by Judge Walker who was known for his badassery and a no-nonsense approach.
The prosecutor began his arguments against Peter, the drunkard.
“Your Honour, it’s not the first time he’s gotten drunk and involved in a rumble. You should’ve seen his violent behaviour. The other man is still in a coma.”
And, after 10 minutes of passionate oration, he made his concluding remarks and sat down.
A normal punishment for this would have included a prison time of a couple of years.
Fortunately for Peter, he had a good lawyer. He managed to bring it down to a fine of $1000.
Unfortunately for Peter, he was drunk that day. Though he was strictly advised by his lawyer not to open his mouth in court, Peter couldn’t take it.
He began abusing the Judge.
“What do you think of yourself, you dork. I’m gonna rip you apart. 1000 bucks could fetch me 100 beers.”
The audience was having a gala time. Peter’s lawyer tried to shush him. But, Peter wouldn’t listen. He continued screaming at the judge.
“Two years in the San Quentin State Prison,” said Judge Walker before banging the gavel.
